Mahalo (Thank you) to our current sponsors!

We are in the process of organizing the 3rd International conference of resveratrol and health that will take place in Hawai‘i from November 30th to December 3rd, 2014. The conference will once again collect the leading names globally in the area of resveratrol to discuss the trends and developments with resveratrol research and product development opportunities and set the scope for the coming years for resveratrol.

Resveratrol2014 conference is a non-profit project and we need a number of sponsors to make this happen. In addition to the sponsor-opportunities listed below, we would be happy to provide other combinations of services for you in order to match your specific needs.

The number of participants: Based on the number of participants in the previous conferences we expect more than 150 participants coming to Hawaii for Resveratrol2014.

The number of contacts: We have today more than 2000 contacts receiving our newsletters. In addition to this, we have a more than 100 press-contacts in our mailing list to which we send our press releases. The quality of the contacts is very high and our outreach is global.

Sponsor Opportunities

  • Use of the Resveratrol2014-logo in marketing
  • Price for main sponsorship: $15,000 USD

2. Supporting Sponsors will receive the following benefits:

  • One free seat for the conference (Value $975 USD)
  • Table-top presentation at the conference
  • Listing on the conference proceedings folder

  • Use of the Resveratrol2014-logo in marketing
  • Price for sponsorship: $5,500 USD

3. Meals and breaks:

The sponsorship will be listed in the program “Sponsored by” and the sponsorship will also be stated during the presentations as the following point on the agenda. Sponsor’s logo will be listed on the conference proceedings folder and at the conference homepage.

The cost of sponsoring the different meals and breaks is based on 175 participants:

  • Each Breakfast – $6,125 USD
  • Each lunch – $10,000 USD
  • Afternoon breaks, two in total – $3,500 USD
  • Each Poster Session – $5,800 USD
  • Each Dinner – $14,000 USD

We would like to get the sponsorship started already during 2013, and this way expanding the period and visibility. We can also divide the payment in two or several invoices and spread the payment for two budget years.

Regional Resveratrol Meeting

The biennial Resveratrol Conference is the main resveratrol proceeding globally collecting all the leading names in the area of resveratrol. In addition to this, we also organize smaller meetings in between the conferences. We have done so in Copenhagen 2012 and in Tokyo in October 2013.

During 2014 we are aiming to arrange 3 regional resveratrol meetings; Porto Allegro in Brazil, Copenhagen in Denmark and Seoul in South Korea. When sponsoring the 2014 Resveratrol Conference you will automatically become a sponsor for the regional meetings if you so desire. You will have 3 free seats for the regional meetings. You will have the possibility to distribute material to the participants at the regional meetings. During the proceedings, each sponsor will be presented with one page. When possible you can have a table-top presentation and sponsor will be listed on the homepage.

The regional meetings for 2014 are part of the project to create Global Council for Resveratrol. Global Council for Resveratrol would be an open and strategic platform for industry and science to meet and interact with the focus on resveratrol. Council’s main task is to support the global resveratrol-community with the latest data related to resveratrol and to make resveratrol from reliable sources a well-known product. Global Council for Resveratrol will collect information related to resveratrol from the academic and communicates this data mainly to the industry but also to the health professionals and to consumers. This communication will help to profile resveratrol positively and support it globally. This project and the regional meetings are partly depending on a grant we have applied from the Ministry of Education in Denmark. We will get the acceptance by January 2014.

We are looking forward tworking with you in this project. Please do get back to me for more information.

Sincerely Yours,

Sami Sassi

Sponsorship Information

Auxin was one of the first plant hormones to be discovered almost 75 years ago. This hormone has been implicated in virtually every aspect of plant growth and development from embryogenesis, through all stages of vegetative development, to the formation of reproductive structures and growth of the gametophyte. The regulation of auxin signaling and transport are central to a fundamental understanding of plant growth and development. After many years of slow progress, the last 15 years have seen remarkable advances in our understanding of auxin biology. Recent research highlights include the identification of auxin receptors, modeling of auxin-dependent regulation of root and shoot meristem function, the identification of protein kinases and endocytic pathways that regulate auxin transport, and characterization of novel auxin biosynthetic pathways. A search of PubMed with the term “auxin” recovers 1678 publications during the last 3 years alone (as of February 7, 2012), which is more than 10% increased compared to the years before and indicative of an extremely robust auxin research community and the broad role of auxin in plant growth. In recognition of these exciting advances, international meetings focusing on auxin research have been held in 2000, 2004 and 2008 in Corsica, Crete, and Marrakesh respectively. Because the pace of discovery in auxin biology continues to accelerate, we propose to follow up on these very successful meetings with “Auxin 2012.” This meeting will be held on the Big Island of Hawai‘i December 9th – December 14th.

AUXIN 2012

The small size of the AUXIN 2012 meeting will promote informal discussions and interactions among the participants. The meeting will consist of 9 sessions as outlined in the proposed program. We will feature Keynote Addresses with talks by Joanne Chory, Philip Benfey and Masao Tasaka who will put the auxin field in a broader perspective of refined signal transduction and whole genome analysis based on recent breakthrough discoveries. The main body of the meeting will consist of sessions covering diverse aspects of auxin biology including transport, signaling, and metabolism. In addition, sessions will focus on the diverse roles of auxin in aspects of plant development such as meristem function, plant architecture, vascular development, and embryogenesis. Mathematical and computational modeling of auxin-regulated development is another area of key interest in the field and will be well-represented. Exciting advances have been made in each of these areas as evidenced by the number of major review articles published within the last two years. The abstracts of the meeting will be printed and a bound copy will be distributed to all the participants. In addition, the abstracts will be available online.

The proposed program lists 30 confirmed invited speakers who will be distributed through 9 sessions. The speakers were chosen based on their recent contributions and represent 14 countries. Each session will include these invited speakers with 30-minute talks and 15 minutes shorter talks of which 18 will be chosen from the submitted abstracts. Each chair will introduce the subject of the session and will encourage discussion. In addition, poster sessions will take place on Monday, and Tuesday afternoons. All participants will be encouraged to bring posters.

Your Support & Sponsorship

The auxin meeting is entirely a community affair, with no learned society infrastructure for backup- so we are completely dependent on our own fundraising.  We like to create opportunities for enhanced visibility by offering ‘platinum’, ‘gold’ and ‘silver’ sponsorship contracts, in which you will, by a donorship of $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000,  respectively, be recognized as the main sponsor of this key meeting in the plant field.  If such an ambitious sponsorship is not compatible with your interests, any way you are able to help would be much appreciated. For example, you could sponsor a specific speaker or provide funds to support Ph.D. students to attend the meeting We would, of course, be happy to include logos/promotional material as appropriate.
